LA Ink LA Ink is a reality show on TLC that follows the events of 'High Voltage Tattoo', a tattoo studio in LA, California. It is a spinoff of TLC's Miami Ink and it premiered on August 7, 2007 at 10:00 PM EDT. High Voltage Tattoo is located at 1259 N. La Brea Ave near the southwest corner of La Brea and Fountain Avenue. The shop is owned by acclaimed tattoo artist Kat Von D, who formerly starred on Miami Ink. In 2007, after a falling out with Miami Ink co-owner Ami James, Kat left the show and returned to Los Angeles, where she decided to open her own tattoo studio and was offered her own show. The studio's other employees are artists Corey Miller, Hannah Aitchison, Kim Saigh and no shop manager as of a current date. Each episode features a number of customers along with their backstories and motivations for choosing their tattoos. Due to the studio's Hollywood location, the clientle has included and will likely feature a number of celebrities. There is also some focus on there personal lives.
